This spicy little oil does more than just amp up your recipes, this is one of my little secrets when it comes to sore muscles.
So how? What's the chemistry of this little bottle you may ask?
Black Pepper essential oil contains many natural chemicals that are important in supporting natural functions of the body. Some of these chemicals include monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes, which are known for their antioxidant activity when ingested. So, if you're looking for antioxidants which remove potentially damaging oxidizing agents inside our body.
When the week of yoga, silks and hiking catches up to me, I like to layer black pepper with a little coconut oil over my regular deep blue rub. Black pepper gives a warming and intensity I feel my body craves. Taking it internally I know I'm protecting myself from any of the bad decisions I may have made during the week. My fav combo in a veggie cap is black pepper, turmeric and copaiba. It's a one two punch for inflammation.
The aroma of black pepper is wonderful to help support the airways-try diffusing it with breathe for a relaxing and air cleaning blend.
I apply black pepper with wild orange on my feet if I’m feeling sleepy and slow- the black pepper helps support my circulation while the orange combo perks me (having permanent cold feet circulation is an issue for me and black pepper comes to that rescue).
Remember to DILUTE with oil with this one and a little bit goes a LONG way.
Happy Friday!
