Pink Moon in Libra 2026: Meaning, Astrology, Ritual & Journal Prompts

Tonight's full moon is called the Pink Moon not because it actually appears pink but because it arrives alongside the first blossoms of a North American pink wildflower that blooms in April. The Full Moon in Libra, a sign of balance and relationship, faces the Sun in Aries, a sign of independence and action. The reflection of these signs asks the question: where is your life out of alignment; within yourself, and in the relationships you hold with others?

In this blog post, I’ll share some astrological insights, energetic themes this Full Moon highlights, a simple breathing exercise and visualization, and journal prompts to help you integrate what comes up.

Astrological Insights: Libra, Aries and the Paschal Moon
Did you know that the date of Easter is determined on the Gregorian calendar by the moon? Yes that's true, Easter is celebrated on the Sunday after the first full moon following the Spring Equinox. So this Pink Moon we see this evening is refferred to as the Paschal moon, that full moon marking the coming of Easter.
Full Moon in Libra (the "we") Opposite Sun in Aries (the "me")
This Full Moon lands in Libra while the Sun is hanging out in Aries, this opposition shines a light on balance (and lack there of). Libra is your relationship to others, harmony, fairness, reciprocity, and the ways you handle conflict. While Aries is your relationship to yourself, independence, desire and the willingness to take action. Libra strives for harmony but real harmony isn't created by pretending everything is fine. It's created by addressing what isn't working and being willing to renegotiate where you are using your energy.
Venus and Mars
Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty and connection while Aries is ruled by Mars. Mars is the planet of assertion, independence and ACTION. Put together, this is a reminder I come back to again and again:
Relationships need both tenderness and boundaries.
If things are relatively balanced this moon can feel energizing like you and the people in your life bring out the best in each other. Of course if something has been unspoken, this lunation can bring it to the surface. And honestly? That's not a bad thing. Sometimes tension is just the truth asking to be acknowledged (and I know it's easy for me as a fire-filled Leo to say this but I think we can ALL agree that dealing with the elephant in the room is a better feeling than being suffocated by ignoring that large problem).
A "Clear Skies" Moment: No Retrogrades
With no planets in retrograde for over a month, there's forward marching energy without indecision. This time supports having the conversation you've been avoiding, making a clean choice, recommitting to what's real or letting something go that you've outgrown.
Full moons reveal truth and this one in particular highlights where energy is uneven. Where you're doing more, giving more, tolerating more or shrinking your energy.

Breathing Exercise
I like to take time under the moon for mindfullness and breath. Using a balanced breath with a balanced pause, like inhaling for a count of 6 holding for 2 or 4 seconds and exhaling for 6 seconds then pausing for 2 or 4 seconds. Anulom Vilom is also a beautiful balancing breath you can get a demonstration of this technique here.

Visualization

You can do this any time tonight, or within a couple days of the Full Moon.

Step 1: Settle (1 minute)

Sit comfortably and place one hand on your heart and one hand on your lower belly.

Gently soften your shoulders.

Step 2: Libra breath (3 minutes)

Inhale through your nose for a count of 4. Hold gently at the top for 2. Exhale slowly for 6.

Repeat.

As you breathe out, imagine you’re releasing pressure—the need to perform, to fix, to manage, to keep it together.

Step 3: Visualization: the scales (5 minutes)

Now picture a set of scales in front of you.

On the left side, place everything you’ve been giving outward lately—your attention, your time, your emotional energy, your effort.

On the right side, place everything you’ve been giving inward—rest, self-trust, boundaries, nourishment, honesty, devotion to yourself.

Just notice:

  • Which side is heavier?
  • Which side feels empty?
  • What are you overcompensating for?

Now, without forcing it, imagine yourself making one small adjustment that brings the scales closer to level.

Maybe it’s a boundary. Maybe it’s an apology. Maybe it’s the truth. Maybe it’s asking for what you actually need.

Let the adjustment be simple and realistic—something you could truly follow through on.

Step 4: Anchor it (30 seconds)

Take one final deep breath.

Whisper (out loud or to yourself):

“I choose honesty. I choose balance. I choose what’s real.”

Journal Prompts
~Where is my energy uneven right now? Where am I giving more than I am recieving?
~What am I avoiding because I don't want to disrupt the peace? What would change if I face the truth?
~Where have I been shrinking to stay connected?
~Where have I been too independent to let anyone in? What feels safe to share?
~What needs to be left behind? A pattern, a role, a belief, a habit?
~What does harmony mean to me now? How do I know I'm in true alignment not just keeping things "nice?"
~One brave action I can take this week is...
~One balancing choice I can make in my relationships is....

Conclusion

This Pink Moon isn’t here to punish you—it’s here to show you the truth with a little more clarity.

It’s a mirror for the places you’ve been over-extending, under-speaking, or over-compromising. And it’s also an invitation: to come back into balance, to choose honesty over avoidance, and to remember that real love doesn’t require self-abandonment.

If something comes up for you tonight—emotion, discomfort, a sudden realization—try to meet it gently. Let it be information. Let it guide you.

And if you do one thing under this Full Moon, let it be this:

Make one small choice that brings you back to yourself—and back to the kind of relationships that can hold the real you.
